ABOUT US
Formerly known as the Sandy Watercolor Club, our organization formed in 2003 after a watercolor class sparked the interest of members Bobbie Halverson, Sharon Nicholson, and their instructor, Alex Hoshovsky, in finding a more regular time to meet, share information, and benefit from artist demonstrations. Official membership currently stands at approximately 65. Dues are $15.00 per membership year (August - May).
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month (August ~ May) at 9310 South 1300 East, Sandy, Utah (the Sandy Senior Center building) beginning at 6:30 p.m. We feature demonstrations by outstanding water media artists, many of whom are members of the Utah Watercolor Society. This is one way that the Guild provides its members with opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills in water media. We have exciting guests who teach us something on a very personal level. The group is small and questions are encouraged. To get a sense of the variety of artists, their work, and their demonstrations, please visit the Newsletter page.
Since 2004, the Guild has organized and held a juried spring show in March, welcoming submissions from area water media artists and awarding prizes. The month-long exhibit and opening reception are both held at the Sandy Senior Center. Works may be exhibited either for sale or not for sale. For more information about this year’s show, please visit the Upcoming Events page.
In addition, the Guild now organizes workshops with local artists; Guild members are given priority when registering.
